Flex License Analyzer Facilitates FLEXnet™ Publisher License File Deployment

LinkRight Software, LLC, the developers of the Tracker software use analysis and planning tool, today introduced the Flex License Analyzer, a new product aimed at helping companies more confidently deploy new license files for their FLEXnet™ Publisher based applications.

The Flex License Analyzer simplifies the process of qualifying sets of FLEXnet™ Publisher license files before installation on production license servers by providing licensed feature summaries and comparisons. FLEXnet™ Publisher license file rules and syntax, such as PACKAGE and UPGRADE lines and SUPERSEDE rules, are taken into account to provide an accurate view of the actual available licenses in the license files. A comparison of two sets of license files identifies issues that must be considered before deploying the new license files, such as start dates that are later than existing expire dates, increases and decreases in feature quantities, new or missing features and changes in expire dates and license servers.

"Companies currently verify and compare their license files by hand before deployment to ensure there is no unexpected loss of service to their users," says Stephen Kowalczyk, Vice President of Development for LinkRight Software. "This process has been reported to take anywhere from a several hours to several days depending upon the size of the license files being deployed. The Flex License Analyzer reduces the time necessary to identify issues to minutes and provides a user with enough detailed information to help their vendor resolve any licensing problem."

Flex License Analyzer 1.0 is available immediately for any platform that supports Java 1.4.2 and higher.
